“My home is fractured, yet safe. I carry its stones on my back everyday and walk and walk till I fall asleep.”

In this work, Dayrwan reflects on the meaning of home. Having lost contact with her homeland, home becomes a mental state, one whose building blocks are security and peace—when available. The photographs show her in two states: resting her feet on a solid wall and vertically collapsing on the floor. In both pictures, however, the wall and the ground provide a mise-en-scène for the concepts of security and safety.
