Inspired by both Edvard Munch’s painting “Love and Pain/Vampire”, and the “Pieta” motif, the photos show two figures posing against a red background. The pictures imitate the motifs aesthetically but depart from their potential connotations.
In this work I approach intimacy with an examining glance, testing its limits and questioning its conventions and contradictions, between trust and abuse, care and dependence.
