Inspired by both Edvard Munch’s painting “Love and Pain/Vampire”, and the “Pieta” motif, the photos show two figures posing against a red background. The pictures imitate the motifs aesthetically but depart from their potential connotations.
In this work the Dayrwan approaches intimacy with an examining glance, testing its limits and questioning its conventions and contradictions, between trust and abuse, care and dependence.
